Series Review of The Miles High Club Series - The Miles High Club Series by TL Swan - Contemporary Romance RomCom Book Reviews
PinterestLinkedInReddit

Today I would like to give a Miles High Club series review sharing my thoughts on the will be four book series by T.L. Swan. I read the first three books at the end of May and the fourth book will be released on August 30th, 2022. After I read that book I will update this post to include it.

As usual I try to keep spoilers to a minimum in my reviews. However, there may still be a few small spoilers in this post.

This series is a contemporary romance/Rom-com series about four billionaire brothers. I have no additional warnings about these books; they are pretty safe reads for most people. Though as usual you will want to check the trigger warnings.

Trigger Warnings

Since we don’t always get trigger warnings on books I like to give trigger warnings in my reviews. This can help people avoid certain triggers that could hurt their mental well being.

Possible Triggers in this book are:

  • Alcohol
  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Profanity
  • Sexually Explicit Scenes

For a list of the triggers I look for you can check out this link here. This may or may not be a complete list of triggers for this book, I do my best to make sure I mark anything that could be a potential trigger but I may accidentally miss triggers.

The Miles High Club Series Order

While these books can be read as stand alones I find it’s helpful to read the books in order still in order to have a full context of scenes later. Additionally, these books introduce the four brothers and you find out more about them as the series goes on.

The Miles High Club reading order is:

  1. The Stopover
  2. The Takeover
  3. The Casanova
  4. The Do-Over (Releases August 30th, 2022)

The Stopover Book Review

In the first book of the series – The Stopover – Emily is returning home from a wedding when she’s bumped up to first class on her flight where she spends the entire flight talking to Jim. Due to weather their flight lands in Boston for the night and they have one amazing night together. One year later Emily lands her dream job and the CEO is Jim, or Jameson. He hasn’t forgotten their night together and he wants a repeat.

“When you see him, I want you to do something for me. Ask him if he feels like he might die if he doesn’t get to touch you again… Because there’s another man who does.”

T.L. Swan, The Stopover

The Stopover is a billionaire boss romance with plenty of comedy, miscommunication tropes, and a decent amount of spice.

Emily wasn’t my favorite type of female main character. I felt there were moments of immaturity that started to annoy me. There was one scene in which Jameson pulled a dick move though that had me ready to reach through the book and strangle him. I honestly don’t know how Emily forgave him, because I would have gone into full on heartless bitch mode and walked away from him for good.

I really liked this book, the characters were interesting, and there were so many laugh out loud moments in this story. While I did feel the drama was a little over the top at times between the characters I can forgive that. I gave this book 5 stars and 3 peppers.

The Takeover Book Review

In the second book of the Miles High Club series – The Takeover – we follow Tristan. He meets Claire, a widow with three sons, and in that first meeting she yells at him. So when he sees her at a retreat of course he’s interested in her. They spend an amazing week together but when they return to New York, Claire has no interest in continuing anything. Now Tristan needs to figure out how he’s going to win her over.

“Claire Anderson,” he calls from the stage. My horrified eyes meet his. “Sit back down.” “I . . .” I take another step toward the exit. “Claire,” he warns. I glance around at the 120 pairs of eyes fixed firmly on me and then back up at him. “I said sit. Back. Down.”

T.L. Swan – The Takeover

The Takeover is a billionaire romance about a mom who is trying to reclaim her life after the loss of her husband. Claire is a curvy woman who does everything she can for her kids also trying to keep the business she and her husband started going.

Claire is a strong woman and one of my favorite female main characters. Tristan is sexy, funny, and the whole package. I could not get enough of Tristan. Finally, the three kids were hilarious and wonderful. I loved how Tristan bonded with them and won them over, it was perfect.

This book was better than The Stopover mainly because of the characters. There was laughter, tears, tension, and spice that just made this book fantastic. I would give this book 5 stars, 3 peppers, and 2 tissues.

The Casanova Book Review

In the third book of the Miles High Club series – The Casanova – we follow Elliot as he and Kate battle it out. Kate has always been difficult for Elliot so when he suddenly finds himself attracted to her he can’t quite place why. Kate thinks her boss is a jerk so when he starts showing interest in her she’s really suspicious of his motives.

“Anywhere will do. I don’t care if we go camping. Maybe next time we can?” “Yeah, okay.” He chuckles as he opens the door. “My brother has told me all about camping, I’ll meet you there.” I smile: “that’s code for ‘I’m never going camping.’”

T.L. Swan, The Casanova

The Casanova is a billionaire boss romance.

Love Kate, Elliot is a drama king, and it’s the supporting cast that keeps this book going. I gotta say after The Takeover, this book was disappointing for me. There was a lot of drama, Elliot made a horrible decision at the end, and there were a lot of things that were just off with this book. I think the characters are great, but the heat was lacking, the conversations were off, and there was a lot of unnecessary drama.

The book had some good moments. I did laugh at some moments too, but overall it was just missing what was needed for this to be excellent. Sadly I’m giving this book 3 stars with 2 peppers.

The Do-Over Book Review

The final book in the series will be The Do-Over and it will follow Christopher. As of right now we don’t have any blurb about what is going to happen in this book. However, in The Casanova, Christopher references going off the grid and disappearing. I would expect that he will do exactly this and meet someone and keep his actual life a secret.

That is simply my prediction we will find out on August 30th if I am correct.

Update 9/30: I was correct. Christopher has been stuck in the same routine and after a rather rude awakening about what people actually think about him he decides to leave it all behind for a year. He leaves behind his luxurious life in London to go backpacking. He doesn’t expect to meet a woman that won’t be interested in being with him but will end up being the friend he needs who doesn’t know who he really is.

“In ten years, on this day, no matter where we are in the world, no matter who we are married to, we will meet on this beach at this time and take a swim together in the dark.”

My eyes well with tears, because damn it, that’s romantic for a goodbye. “I promise.”

He pulls me into a hug, and we stand in the water in each other’s arms. Regretful but grateful for the honesty between us. I smile as a thought comes to me.

“My husband won’t like you, though.”

He laughs out loud and throws me into the air again. “That’s ’cause I’m going to steal you off him.”

TL Swan, The Do-Over

Christopher and Hayden are perfection in this story. She is so down to earth while he’s trying to adjust and gain perspective about his life. I couldn’t love the dynamic and tension between these two more. I even shed a few happy tears at the end of this book and look forward to Miles Ever After which will contain extended epilogues for this series.

Overall the book was good and I’m glad it ended on a high note. We know I wasn’t too much of a fan of The Casanova though I enjoyed Elliot’s scenes in this book. I gave the book 4 stars, 2 peppers, and 1 tissue for the happy tears.

The Miles High Club Series Review

While the third book wasn’t as great as the first or second book. I will finish out this series and I am actually excited for the final book and Christopher’s story. I liked him in previous books so I’m hoping we get a really great story from him.

My favorite book in the series is The Takeover and Tristan really does own me. He’s my favorite of the Miles brothers so far.

If you like this series you may also like the Salacious Players Club series by Sara Cate.
