The Wilde Boys Duet Review

The Wilde Boys Duet Review - The Wilde Boys by Sara Cate - Billionaire Romance Book Recommendations
PinterestLinkedInReddit

Sara Cate pretty much owns me and I’ll read most of anything that she writes. Today I am giving you The Wilde Boys Duet Review. I read this duet a few weeks back and as usual there was serious taboo in this duet.

While typically I try to avoid spoilers as much as possible, this review is going to be a bit difficult to avoid when it comes to the second book. So if you want to read this duet I highly recommend skipping the content on this post that goes over the second book. If you don’t mind having the first book spoiled by all means go ahead and read through all of the review.

The Wilde Boys is a billionaire romance with a taboo relationship and a poly-amorous relationship. There are a lot of sexually explicit scenes in both books and even what I would consider to be dub-con in one of the books.

Trigger Warnings

Since we don’t always get trigger warnings on books I like to give trigger warnings in my reviews. This can help people avoid certain triggers that could hurt their mental well being.

Possible Triggers in this book are:

  • Alcohol
  • Alcoholism
  • Anxiety
  • Cheating (Not Main Characters)
  • Death
  • Depression
  • Profanity
  • Sexually Explicit Scenes
  • Taboo (I will expand on this in the reviews)

For a list of the triggers I look for you can check out this link here. This may or may not be a complete list of triggers for this book, I do my best to make sure I mark anything that could be a potential trigger but I may accidentally miss triggers.

The Wilde Boys Duet Reading Order

While you could skip the first book in the duet and do just fine reading the second on its own, I highly recommend reading both books. Understanding the full background makes the second book better as the characters deal with healing from trauma.

The first book has a taboo relationship that can leave some readers feeling extremely uncomfortable so I do want to caution you before reading. Below is the reading order for The Wilde Boys Duet.

  1. Gravity
  2. Free Fall

Gravity

Zara’s twin sister was dating one of the Wilde boys and together they would hang out on their private island until tragedy struck and Zara’s sister and Nash’s brother were killed in a helicopter crash. Several years later Nash finds Zara and his father Alistair notices a difference in his son right away. Alistair makes Zara an offer she can’t refuse. Live on the island with them, help Nash heal, and she makes enough money to live peacefully. She just has to make sure her heart can survive them both.

“You make me feel good, Zara, and I haven’t felt good in a long fucking time. When I’m with you, it hurts a little less. It doesn’t go away, but I don’t hate life so much when you look at me like you’re looking at me right now.”

Sara Cate, Gravity

Gravity dives deep into trauma and healing where all the characters are still dealing with the loss of their loved ones. This book does contain a love triangle and an age gap romance. However, there are a few uncomfortable scenes but Sara Cate is one of the queens of taboo romance.

Overall I enjoyed the story in this book but the character growth within the duet as a whole is beautiful but I believe that’s because of what happens in this book. I gave this book 4 stars and 5 peppers.

Spoiler Notice

At this point if you intend on reading this duet you will want to skip the second half of this review in order to avoid spoilers. If you do not mind spoilers go ahead and continue reading.

Free Fall

It’s been a few years and Nash has taken the time to try to get back on his feet. Except he hasn’t fully dealt with the hurt his father has caused or the loss of his brother. Now he spends his days working non stop. Hanna had it all until a mental breakdown left her career in shambles and now she just needs some time to get her head straight. Ellis is still dealing with a heartbreak that makes it impossible to trust his ex. When all three end up on Del Rey they will need to learn to heal from their pasts in order to have the futures they want.

“Sometimes things have to be broken before they can be truly whole again.”

Sara Cate, Free Fall

I was not expecting the story we get in Free Fall. The character growth, the love, the healing, and the forgiveness in this book are all extremely beautiful. Mental health takes the main stage in this book. I cried during the breakdowns and breakthroughs of these characters and was genuinely in love with the happy ending.

We all know I enjoy books that take me on an emotional roller coaster and Free Fall did that with characters that were learning to let go of toxicity, heal, and accept themselves for who they are. I gave this book 5 stars, 5 peppers, and 2 tissues.

The Wilde Boys Duet Review

Overall I absolutely loved this series. It was emotional, spicy, and the story was fantastic. Sara Cate does a fantastic job about giving us stories of self acceptance and healing which is part of why I love almost everything she writes.
