For most of my life I’ve felt that seasonal decorating is completely pointless. You put out a bunch of seasonal stuff at the beginning of the season, then box it up again for 9 months in storage. It just seemed to me like it would take up a lot of space that it was unnecessary.
Outside of Christmas, I just didn’t feel the need to decorate for every single season and holiday.
Then I was trapped inside my house for 6 months and my views quickly changed. This year I went all out and started purchasing fall items to decorate my home. Of course as I wait patiently for everything to arrive I’ve also started looking at a few DIY options.
DIY Pumpkins For Fall Decor
The nice thing about DIY Fall decor is you can easily create interesting decor that’s unique and without spending a large amount of money. At least if you already have the majority of the supplies in your house.
Being that I’m not a crafty person to begin with, I actually have very little supplies in my house to do most DIY seasonal crafts. However, that doesn’t stop me from checking them out, looking over them, and gaining a bit of motivation to try them out myself.
That’s exactly what happened when I started looking for a few simple Fall diy craft projects this season to complete the Fall look in my home. While I won’t be posting any of my own crafts and craft ideas I can share some of the ones that inspired me to tap into DIY Fall decor this year.
Crochet Your Own Pumpkins
As a lover of hooking this craft immediately caught my eye on crafts I’d love to try out this fall. These pumpkins are just adorable.
Make A Pumpkin Out Of Sunflowers
My husband loves sunflowers. The bright yellows and oranges are sure to brighten up any room in your home. This craft brings all those wonderful Fall colors into your home.
Mason Jar Lid Lighted Pumpkins
Save those extra mason jar lids, the ones that won’t seal right or are bent are perfect for creating a beautiful lighted pumpkin. This is a cute way to upcycle your lids.
Frugal Fall Decor With Dollar Store Pumpkins
Of course if you don’t can your own veggies and sauces, or crochet a lot there are still options for you. This is a handy little idea for those super toy like pumpkins you get at the dollar store.
Dollar Tree Pumpkin Wreath
While you are at the dollar store you can pick up the supplies you need for this pumpkin wreath too. It’s a cute wreath that works all Fall long on your front door.
No Sew Burlap Pumpkins
You don’t even need to be handy with a needle and thread. These no sew burlap pumpkins are an adorable way to add some farmhouse style to your Fall decor.
DIY Paper Pumpkins
If you have kids this is a great one to do with them. It’s a super easy pattern and easy to follow directions for little paper pumpkins throughout your home.
Toilet Paper Pumpkins
Of course if you are looking for a way to hide all those extra rolls of toilet paper you can do so in plain sight. These toilet paper pumpkins are a fantastic way to hide the extra rolls while decorating all of your bathrooms.
Make Your Own Fabric Pumpkins
These cute little fabric pumpkins are great for those who are good with needle and thread. The instructions are easy to follow though so even if you aren’t actually good with needle and thread you can still probably pull this one off.
Sweater Sleeve Pumpkins
This makes me sad for all the sweaters I got rid of at the end of last season. In a couple years though I’ll have a whole mess of sweaters to repurpose as pumpkins or anything I need them to be.
Twine Pumpkins
For a beautiful rustic touch to your Fall decor why not try out this beautiful twine pumpkin idea. It’s a cute pumpkin that’s perfect for a mantel or entryway table.
Old Socks Fabric Pumpkins
Now this is a cute pumpkin and I’m tempted to just purchase those grey wool socks just to make them. They are just almost too adorable to pass up.
DIY Yarn Pumpkins
Finally we have these super adorable yarn pumpkins that are so easy to make and would work well with almost any decor.
Simple Fall Decor
Being stuck in the house and desperately needing a change in my scenery has made me a decorating mad woman. I’ve finally started the process of decorating my bedroom, finishing the living room, creating a coffee sitting room, and even organizing my kitchen.
These simple DIY Fall decor ideas are a great way to add that touch of Fall and maybe change up your scenery a little bit too.
