I am officially in Instant Pot heaven. It’s been almost 2 weeks since I’ve last used my stove top for anything other than boiling my bagels in sugar water.
I feel as though I have wasted the last 12 years of my life standing over a stove cooking when I could have been doing literally anything else. Yes I did just go look up when the Instant Pot first came out.
I have made vegetables, noodles, meats, and soups in the Instant Pot so far. I’ve never had such perfect sticky white rice than I have from the Instant Pot. This kitchen appliance is a must have.

Nicky at Little Family Adventure shared a fantastic tip for Instant Pot beginners, “Buy an extra silicone ring for your Instant Pot. Have at least one for savory and one for sweet. The ring can and will absorb flavors. After making this easy gumbo, you don’t want the cheesecake or cake you make next to still taste like gumbo. Swap the seal and problem solved!”
Meaty Italian Pasta Dinner
From the post Diane at Homemade Food Junkie loves how easy the Instant Pot makes cooking. “This is a ‘set it and forget it’ machine. I love making dinner in one pot. You saute, add the remaining ingredients, set the pressure cooker and wait for the pot to ding. Since this meal has your entire dinner in it, go take a break. You can’t watch this pot. Make a salad if you like 🙂”

Additional Instant Pot Tips
Since I’ve spent the last two weeks using the Instant Pot I’ve learned a few things of my own. Some of these tips are great for beginners, one is a bit of a duh moment.
First, white rice should be cooked with a 1:1 ratio and you must rinse the rice first. Use the rice setting on the Instant Pot and make sure the valve is closed. This will give you perfect sticky white rice.
Second, make sure you use enough water to avoid burning your food. If there is still water in your pasta dishes when you open the lid. Simply stir for a minute or two and the water should mix in giving you a nice creamy dish.
Finally, if you happen to release the valve and it starts spitting water do not try to cover the spitting valve with a hand towel and then proceed to keep your hand on the towel. You will get burned. Just let the mess happen you can clean it later. Duh moment.

Instant Pots are absolutely amazing. I feed my family of four with a 6-quart Instant Pot just fine, though I have an 8-quart one in storage to be opened up this summer when I have a bit more room in my kitchen.
