Self care is more than just a beauty routine. Self care is taking care of your whole self. Taking care of your mental health and physical health should be a daily priority and these self care calendars and planners help you do that.

Yes a glass of wine, a face mask, a bubble bath, and expensive chocolates can all temporarily relieve problems that we face but it does nothing to actually solve these problems. Self care is not indulging yourself and it’s not just for women.

Without self care it affects your mental health and your physical abilities to keep going. The bare minimum helps keep you going but to thrive you really need to set time aside and make self care a priority.

Self care is rarely in the forefront of a mom’s mind. With all of our other tasks it can be easy to forget the need to take care of ourselves. The problem with this is self care often gets postponed in an effort to complete tasks that we deem to be more important.

I am especially guilty of failing to make my own self care a priority. It gets pushed off because there is dinner to make, work to be done, or a house to clean. In 2020, I plan to make self care a priority in my life.

I realize that if I don’t put my own care as a priority I am actually less productive, get less done, and more likely to feel the cold hand of depression in my life. Self care is especially important to managing my own depression and anxiety.

    1. My favorite form of self care has to be a hot bath with my favorite lavender, spa, or cbd bath bomb. It’s my spa time and I don’t come out until I’m ready to face the world.
